Sewer Commission approves abatements, drainlayer renewals, capital articles.

Rockland Sewer Commission approves $1.9M in customer abatements and $250K capital plan. Michael Mullen, Chair, oversaw unanimous approval of two abatement requests totaling $5,969.52 for customers at 54 Leisurewoods Drive and 524 Liberty Street, along with license renewals for six drainlayers. The Commission voted 2-0 to support three warrant articles: $75,000 for pump repair or replacement, $75,000 for building repairs including roof work and office redesign, and $100,000 for treatment plant repairs and shed replacement.

Interim Superintendent David P. Taylor reported the facility achieved 100 percent NPDES permit compliance in December, treated 68.3 million gallons with an average daily flow of 2.2 million gallons, and passed effluent toxicity testing; Veolia is recruiting for one O&M Technician, one Maintenance II mechanic, and one Plant Manager.
