CPA approves $95,573 in historic preservation funding for GAR Hall and cemetery.

ROCKLAND — The Community Preservation Act Committee unanimously approved $95,573 in base funding for historic preservation projects across town. The grants include $18,000 for GAR Hall wall and ceiling restorations and $16,500 for electrical code upgrades at the same building, along with $27,878 for new Old Town Cemetery fencing and $33,195 for phase 2 of the cemetery restoration project. All four appropriations carry 10 percent contingencies, with unused funds to be returned, and funding will be drawn from the historic preservation fund or the general fund per the Town Accountant's guidance.
