Finance Committee reviews SSVT budget with 5.98 percent increase; Pembroke membership vote looms.
Finance Committee · Meeting of March 18, 2026
ROCKLAND — Finance Committee reviews South Shore Vocational Technical High School's FY27 budget. Superintendent Thomas Hickey presented a 5.98 percent increase driven by health insurance and OPEB costs, as Rockland enrollment fell 11 students to account for Marshfield's recent entry into the district and a new lottery admissions system. The new school building will open in 2028-29; during construction, all athletic competition will shift to away games under a newly implemented user fee.
The district also seeks Town Meeting approval for Pembroke to join, requiring six of nine towns to vote yes and Pembroke to pass both a debt override and exclusion vote.
