Planning Board advances zoning changes on accessory apartments and setbacks.

ROCKLAND — Planning Board unanimously recommends two zoning amendments for the May town meeting. Vice Chairman John Lucas, David Cronin, and James Wells voted to endorse changes redefining "Accessory Apartment" as "Protected Accessory Dwelling Unit (PADU)" in Chapter 415 Zoning and modifying setback rules to cap accessory structures at 30 percent of required yard space. The board also approved administrative payments totaling $544.49 to WB Mason for supplies and the board secretary for work on two meetings.
Both zoning articles will appear on the May 4, 2026 warrant.
