ROCKLAND — Select Board unanimously authorizes acquisition of three open space parcels. Chair Michael P. O'Loughlin, Vice Chair Lori Childs, and Members Tiffanie Needham, John J.

Ellard Jr., and Steven G. O'Donnell Jr. approved the taking of properties off Hingham Street, East Water Street, and Shaw Farm Avenue for open space and conservation purposes after years of effort by the Open Space Committee led by Chair Don Cann. The Board also received water capacity presentations from Town Planner Allyson Quinn, Water Superintendent Kristel Cameron, and consultant Ryan Allgrove in response to a MassDEP Water Supply Emergency Declaration affecting the Abington and Rockland Joint Water Works system.
